Welcome to my blog!

I’m a Canadian professional writer with articles published in print, broadcast, and online markets  (http://www.mepowell.com/). Scholastic Canada published my book, Dragonflies Are Amazing! My award-winning short fiction and poetry are published in literary magazines and anthologies.

As well, I recently completed my MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia. I also hold MA and BFA degrees in theatre, and a BA in Journalism and Communications. I teach journalism as a sessional at the University of Regina, and I teach creative writing workshops for children, teens, and adults.

One of my main interests is travel. Now that my two kids are grown, I’m learning to travel alone, or with others who share my interests. Life is an adventure! I hope you’ll participate by leaving a comment and sharing your experiences.
